Glebe Farm, Milton Keynes
Project Overview
In 2016 we were commissioned to provide detailed hard and soft landscape design for specific areas within the mixed-use sustainable urban extension at Glebe Farm.
This new Milton Keynes community comprises:
- over 1,100 dwellings;
- one primary school (for children between the ages of 2 – 11) and one secondary school (for children between the ages of 12 and 18);
- a mixed use neighbourhood centre comprising of a retail food store of approximately 350 square metres, additional non-food retail, a GP health centre;
- multi-functional green infrastructure (totalling approximately 18.5 hectares) including parkland, sports pitches, children’s play areas, informal open space, allotments, woodland, landscaping, surface water attenuation; and
- a new multi-functional community building.
Our brief concentrated on the Northern Wetland Park, allotments, LEAP’s (Local Equipped Area for Play), NEAP’s (Neighbourhood Equipped Area for Play), and the infrastructure landscape areas.
We also provided design services for information boards which inform local residents and visitors about the Green Infrastructure benefits of the landscape around them.
Our commission at Glebe Farm is ongoing as the development continues to be implemented.
